Who are you? Why should I work with your company?

We are Matty Killen – film maker and camera extraordinaire and Conor Charlton – actor and producer. We provide high quality scenes at a bargain price. We are passionate about producing great scenes, use great equipment, we know what casting directors want to see and we will apply our extensive knowledge and insights on to your showreel.  You can find out all about us in the About section.

We have all the info about our TigerStyle Reels and the Headshot and Coaching services in their sections as well.  You can check out some of our work and the testionials from our clients too.

All of our work gets reviewed by at least one Northern Irish agent, so if you’re looking to put on show exactly what you can do, we’re a great start.

Where are you based?

We’re based in Belfast. Whilst we are still working on getting our own specific studio space, we can shoot virtually anywhere in Belafst or the surrounding area. We can also edit your showreel remotely, no matter where you are in the world. Just send us your files via links or a file transfer service.

What are my filming options?

We generally recommend you shoot two hander scenes, as agents are generally keener to see how you interact with other actors in character. Reacting is often as important as acting. We can shoot one scene for £150, two for £280, or three shot scenes for £400, or £350 if you’re a student, under eighteen, OAP, or have Gravelpit Membership. If you wish to include some of your existing footage in your three reel scene, we will do this at no extra cost, however if you wish for us to re-edit your showreel without the three scene reel, we charge £30

Monologues are £100, which we are happy to shoot, particularly if you want some additional content for your social media channels but again, we recommend two handers.

Do you provide scene partners?

We are happy to source scene partners from Facebook and all of our clients are welcome to take up “Gravelpit Membership”, which is where we will contact them if a new client would like to work with them in a scene, meaning that they can receive new showreel footage at no additional charge.

Can I split the cost if I provide my own scene partner?

Yes, absolutely. Our displayed prices are per scene, not per actor, so feel free to bring someone you are comfortable working with.

I'm a beginner, is that ok?

We accept all levels of acting, Conor has an MA in Acting for Screen and several years professional experience. He can offer you some preparation exercises in order to get you to think in character, and we also always reserve some time for rehearsals so if you're a seasoned pro or just starting, we will do our best to get the best performance out of you!

Who writes the Scripts?

We have a number of different options on scripts. What we recommend is having a bespoke script written for you by one of our affiliated writers - Laura Heather Mac, Sarah Day or Stuart Lunn. All three of these writers are capable of producing bespoke scripts suited to you as an actor and to the casting you are most likely to put up for, along with the roles which you wish to play. Each of these writers offer a different price package and have different ways of working, but in each case should you choose to purchase scripts from them, you pay the writer directly, not us.  You can read up on them in the additional services page

You are also welcome to bring something that you or a friend have written, or as the shooting is generally classed as non-commercial, we can repurpose a script from an existing play, TV show or film.

Can my Tailor Made Script be edited?

This is something which you would need to discuss with the writer, but they are likely to accommodate.

Fights & Stage Combat Scenes:

Fight scenes typically take a longer time to choreograph and is something we are working on developing over time. We recommend that you focus on delivering great performance, but should you opt for a combat scene, these are charged at £100 due to extra editing and to make it look as industry standard as possible.

You can also arrange historical weapons and fight training through one of our affiliates, Forte Historical.  You can read more about them in the additional services page

What if i want my scene filmed in a specific location or at my house?

If you want your reel filmed in a specific location that needs renting.  This will be charged extra accordingly to the venue.

We are happy to travel to your house if it’s in Belfast or the surrounding area, but further away may have an additional charge based on fuel and travel time.

Do you provide a make-up artist?

On occasion we can work with trainee make up artists who are looking to build their portfolio and experience, but should you want an experienced, professional artist, you can bring your own, or we can find one which may be suited for your needs.

What is the length of each scene?

A general rule of thumb with scripts is that one page of dialogue is one minute of screen time. Most scripts are written in the 1.5-2 page range, but for your cut showreel we will look for the best minute or so of the scene.

Do you give advice on the scenes we pick?

We always support you with your choices but we are realistic when it comes to finding locations and are up front about any difficulties or additional charges we would expect to encounter.

Can you edit my reel within 48hrs?

We cannot guarantee this, but if we are, the priority service will be an additional fee which we can negotiate.

Do I need to pay in advance?

We ask for a 20% deposit, you can pay the rest on delivery of the reel or scenes.

What about costume and/or props?

We love shooting fantasy and period pieces, but we don’t have an abundance of our own costumes and props, but we do work with a number of local costume designers and providers, some who stock props such as period weapons. However, should you wish to work with these affiliated parties, we recommend you check out the additional services page.

How will I receive my showreel? How long will i have to wait?

We aim to have your showreel completed within the week of the last scene being shot.   We typically transfer completed video files via WeTransfer.

What if I’m not pleased with the edit you’ve done?

We care about your happiness and we'll always aim to deliver our best edit, although, if not pleased we will offer one edit on each and every scene you shoot with us. We would ask that you make a list of changes that we can make with the footage we have obtained. If it is your own performance you’re unhappy with, there may be limited alterations we can make, but we will do our best.

What is this “Gravelpit Membership”?

We give back to every customer who purchases two or more scenes by adding them onto our supporting actors roster for absoloutely free.  This means they are ready to be chosen and cast by new clients, also updating their showreel. We are also always happy to share our scenes on social media, hopefully raising your profile as an actor as well as our own as a production company.  It is also entirely possible to opt out, should you not want us to contact you again.

How many scenes can you film in one day?

We can film up to three scenes in one day. We allocate four hours to each slot.

How far in advance do I need to book my filmed showreel scenes?

Up to two weeks in advance. Though it's always worth enquiring and asking if you need something to be filmed sooner.

Can I provide my own script?

Yes, you can. If you're providing your own scripts, they must be copyright free and sent over  for approval at least 7 days before your shoot day. Scripts must be no longer than 2 pages of industry standard formatted film script (Final Draft or Celtx), and must include all relevant scene headings and directions. Scenes must be set in a single location, and have only two actors.

How many actors can I have in my showreel scene?

You can have a maximum of three actors per scene. Please bare in mind that the scene will still need to be a maximum of two pages long in script format, so having three actors may delete the scene-time you have.

Can we shoot in a castle/mansion/penthouse/hotel/bar/café/shop/office etc.?

If you have access to shoot in these locations, absolutely. Some of these we can arrange, but we cannot guarantee success every time.

I would like a period scene in my showreel. Can we shoot that?

Absolutely, but remember you will have ot source your own costumes. We recommend you check out our affiliated costumeers.

Can I do a choreographed fight or action sequence for my showreel scene?

Yes. Extra costs and preparation required, we are in contact with

Can we shoot my scene in a moving car?

Yes, but you’ll have to provide your own car, but it won’t be moving for safety reasons.

Can I use my showreel scene as a credit?

Provided that the scene is written by one of our writers, or by yourself, this should be OK. You may need to set up the relevant IMDB page etc.

Can I submit my showreel scene to film festivals?

If you have written your showreel scene to be a complete short film and wish to enter a micro-shorts competition, by all means, go ahead, but we insist that you don’t enter scenes based on another script as this may illicit copyright infringements. Additionally, if your three scenes work together a complete story, feel free to enter this.

We can also shoot short films, but as this will typically need more time in the planning, editing and shooting stage, there may be additional fees. Please contact us at tigerstylereels@gmail.com

Do you provide direction?

Yes, we do. When we arrive on location we will start blocking with as much direction if required.

What happens if we are running over the allocated shooting time?

We will shoot until the scene is finished and there will be no additional fee, unless you are directly responsible for the overlap due to tardiness or lack of preparation. We are simultaneously easy going and professional, but please do not take advantage of our good nature.

What if it is raining on the day?

Well, we are shooting in Northern Ireland, so rain is always possible. But fear not, unless the scene particularly requires dry weather, we can film in the rain. For a lot of showreel scenes, it could be a great addition.

Are you filming showreels on weekends?

We are usually able to accommodate this, but this depends on our availability as well. Matty is fairly busy with wedding photography and drumming in a kick ass band at weekends.

Can I upgrade or downgrade my package once it is booked in?

Yes, you can upgrade your package, but please allow enough notice to approve the additional scenes, or if you are working with a writer, for them to write them. You can downgrade your package, but there is a £20 per scene fee for the downgrades.

Do you provide music for the scenes?

Yes, we do. Not only do we have a large library of free-to-use music, but we are friends with a number of reasonably high profile Northern Irish music acts who love to have their work showcased in videos. Feel free to make suggestions, or let us know what you think of our choices.

Do you do discounts?

We offer a 12.5% discount to students and under eighteens on all our showreel packages.

Can I cancel my filming date? Can I change ny booked date?

Yes, you can cancel your filming date, but your deposit will not be refunded. We allow one date change, with a minimum of a week’s notice. If you have to rebook within this week, you will forfeit your deposit, as we will need to re-book actors, boom operators and other crew. We recommend letting your agent know about your filming day and booking it off so that you don’t have a last minute audition on the same day, or aim to book on a weekend.

What payment methods do you accept?
Bank transfer is our preferred payment method. When you book a showreel we'll send you an invoice with all the relevant details.

I run an acting agency. Can you create showreels for my clients?
Absolutely, please feel free to get in touch.
